How-to guide
How to start accepting Stripe payments in Clovo
Connect your studio-owned Stripe account to Clovo so clients can buy memberships, packs, trials and direct bookings with secure online payments.

Connecting payments is the moment your studio becomes commercially ready — the point where a booking link can actually take money. In Clovo, your studio connects directly to Stripe, so the Stripe account is owned and operated by you. Clovo does not hold your money or control your payouts.
This guide walks through connecting Stripe, what to have ready before you start, and how to confirm payments are live before you share anything publicly.
Before you start
- Have your studio set up in Clovo Studio first — see get started with Clovo.
- Gather your business, identity and bank-account details, so you can finish onboarding in one sitting.
- If you don't yet have a Stripe account, that's fine — you can create one during the connection flow.
How payments flow through Clovo
It helps to understand the structure before you connect. Money moves from your clients, through Stripe, into your own bank account. Clovo sits alongside that flow and applies a transaction-based platform fee — it never holds your funds or decides when you get paid.
Stripe is the payment layer because it handles the parts you don't want to build or own yourself: card security, payment processing, PCI compliance and payout infrastructure. Because the Stripe account is yours, you keep full access to the Stripe dashboard, reporting and payout settings.
- Direct payouts to your own bank account.
- A studio-owned Stripe account you control.
- Secure card processing handled by Stripe.
- Standard Stripe processing fees, with no hidden Clovo monthly fee — see how Clovo pricing works.
Connect Stripe, step by step
-
Open the Stripe connection
In Clovo Studio, go to Setup › Stripe, or use the Connect Stripe prompt on your dashboard. Both routes start the same flow.
-
Choose Connect with Stripe
Select Connect with Stripe to begin onboarding. You'll be guided through creating or linking the Stripe account that belongs to your studio.
-
Complete Stripe onboarding
Stripe may ask for business, identity and bank-account information so it can verify your studio and pay out to the right account. This is why it's worth gathering those details beforehand — you can move through the flow without stopping.
-
Confirm payments are enabled
When onboarding finishes, Stripe redirects you back to Clovo Studio. From that point, products and landing-page payments can process through Stripe in real time.
-
Test the full payment path
Before you share any booking links, walk the path a client takes — from viewing a product to completing payment. A clean checkout builds confidence at the exact moment someone decides to start.
Make payments part of your launch checklist
Payment readiness isn't a one-off setup task — it's the gate between "almost ready" and "open for business". Treat it as the last box you tick before going public.
Once Stripe is connected, the same account powers every paid path: online products and bookings, landing-page sales, and point-of-sale payments taken in the studio. There's nothing extra to connect for each one.
Tip
Do a real test purchase yourself before launch. Seeing the receipt land and the payment appear in your Stripe dashboard confirms the whole chain works end to end.
