How-to guide
How to send studio announcements in Clovo
Send short email and push announcements to all clients, selected clients, booked clients or active subscribers without leaving Clovo.

An announcement is the fastest way to put one short message in front of your clients: a holiday closure, a weather warning, a schedule change, a membership note or a quick studio reminder. Clovo sends it as both an email and a push notification, so the same message lands in two places at once.
That dual delivery is the point. Not every client reliably receives a push alert, so pairing it with email means your message actually gets through. This guide covers how to send an announcement, how to aim it at the right people, and when you do not need to send one at all.
Before you start
- Know who the message is for: everyone, a specific class, or members on a particular plan.
- Have your title and message ready — keep the message under 1000 characters.
- If you are new to the dashboard, run through getting started with Clovo first so you know your way around.
Send an announcement, step by step
-
Open announcements
In Clovo Desktop, go to Operations › Announcements to start a new message.
-
Write the title and message
Add a clear title and a short message body. The title is what catches attention in the inbox and on the lock screen, so make it specific — "Closed Monday for the public holiday" beats "Important update".
-
Choose who receives it
By default an announcement goes to all clients, but you do not have to send to everyone. You can remove selected clients, target only the clients booked into a specific opening, or send to active customers of a particular membership plan.
-
Preview the draft
Continue to the preview to see exactly how the message will read once it arrives. This is your chance to catch a typo or a confusing date before it goes out.
-
Send when you are happy
When the draft and audience look right, send it. Clovo delivers it by email and push notification together, so there is no separate step for each channel.
Aim the message at the right people
A broadcast to every client is right for a studio-wide closure, but most messages are sharper than that. Matching the audience to the message keeps your announcements relevant — and clients pay more attention when the messages they get always apply to them.
- A weather change to a Saturday morning class only needs to reach the clients booked into that opening.
- A note about a price or perk change can go to the active customers of a single membership plan.
- A general reminder or seasonal closure can go to everyone, with any clients you want to leave out simply removed from the list.
Keep it short, and reuse what works
Announcements are built for timely snippets, and there is a hard limit of 1000 characters. If a message needs a long explanation, link out to a page or follow up with a richer email campaign instead of cramming it in.
For messages you will send again — a recurring closure, a seasonal note, a standard reminder — toggle Save for future announcements while you are creating it. The title and message are kept, but the recipients are not, so you can reuse the copy with a completely different audience next time.
Good to know
You do not need a manual announcement when you cancel a class. Clovo automatically notifies the booked clients and handles the relevant refund flow, so a cancellation is taken care of without you writing a word.
Common questions
Will every client see an announcement?
Each announcement is sent by both email and push notification, which is exactly why both channels are used — push alerts are not always received, so the email backs them up. Pairing the two gives you the best chance of reaching everyone you sent to.
Can I send to just one class or one membership plan?
Yes. You can target the clients booked into a specific opening, or send to the active customers of a particular membership plan, rather than messaging your whole client list.
Do I need to announce a cancelled class?
No. When you cancel a class, Clovo automatically notifies the booked clients and handles the relevant refund flow, so an announcement would only duplicate what the platform already does.
What to remember
- Every announcement goes out as both an email and a push notification for reliable reach.
- You can send to all clients, selected clients, clients booked into an opening, or subscribers of a plan.
- Keep messages under 1000 characters, and save reusable copy without saving the recipients.
